Let’s Check Your Options

A few taps can help organize your next step. This is a preliminary screen, not a legal decision.

This result does not establish eligibility, rule out a claim, or calculate a filing deadline. It does not file a complaint or preserve your rights.

Does This Sound Like Your Car?

These are reasons to look closer, not proof that a vehicle qualifies. The warranty, repair history, and applicable law all matter.

Same Problem, Over and Over

It’s been “fixed,” but it keeps coming back.

Repeated Repair Attempts

Four repairs for the same continuing defect, or two for the same serious safety hazard, may support a presumption when the timing and other conditions are met.

Time Without Your Vehicle

A total of at least 30 qualifying repair days can matter. Comparable manufacturer- or distributor-provided loaner days are excluded, and a substantial defect must remain.

The Problem Keeps Happening

You’re still experiencing the issue—even when the dealer cannot reproduce it.

Safety Problems

A defect affects how safely you can control or operate the vehicle.

A Warranty Repair Problem

The defect must be reported during applicable warranty coverage. Notice to the manufacturer and a final repair opportunity also matter.

What You May Be Able to Get

Every case is different

A Possible Buyback

An eligible new vehicle may be repurchased under Texas rules, with a reasonable allowance for use and adjustments required by law.

A Replacement Vehicle

An eligible new vehicle may be replaced with a comparable vehicle, subject to the required adjustments.

Warranty Repair

Warranty repair relief may be available, including for some used vehicles. Used vehicles do not receive a TxDMV Lemon Law buyback or replacement.

Quick Answers

Questions about your circumstances? Call (855) 600-4888 to discuss a review.

Does it cost anything to find out if I qualify?
This check has no charge. Any attorney representation and responsibility for fees or costs require a separate agreement; no outcome is promised.
What if my car is used or leased?
New purchased or leased vehicles may qualify for Texas repurchase or replacement relief. Used vehicles may qualify for warranty-repair assistance if the applicable manufacturer warranty and reporting requirements are met, but not a TxDMV Lemon Law buyback or replacement.
Do I need my repair receipts before I call?
No. Start with what you know. Keep or request repair orders, the purchase or lease agreement, and warranty documents. Dates and mileage can matter.
Is there a deadline?
TxDMV must receive your Lemon Law complaint and the filing fee within six months after the earliest of: (1) the expiration of the express warranty term; (2) 24 months after the vehicle's original delivery to an owner; or (3) 24,000 miles after that original delivery. Under TxDMV rules the proceeding does not begin until TxDMV receives the filing fee, so send the fee with the complaint. TxDMV guidance says the mileage limits generally do not apply to towable RVs or other vehicles without an odometer; the warranty-expiration and 24-month limits still apply. Dates and other rules need prompt review; other claims may have different deadlines.
