United Legal reviews vehicle warranty disputes under California's Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and the Texas Lemon Law administered by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Pick your state to get the right questions, remedies, and deadlines, one question at a time.

California Lemon Law
A civil claim under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, pursued against the manufacturer.
A legal presumption can apply after repeated repair attempts or more than 30 days out of service within 18 months or 18,000 miles. Missing that window does not end the inquiry.
Used vehicles depend on the warranty issued with the sale, not just leftover factory coverage.
An administrative process run by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles under Occupations Code chapter 2301, with its own complaint and hearing steps.
A hard deadline: a Lemon Law complaint and its filing fee must reach TxDMV within six months after the earliest of express-warranty expiration, 24 months, or 24,000 miles from original delivery.
Used vehicles may have a warranty-repair route, but not a TxDMV buyback or replacement.
Start with the state where you bought or leased the vehicle.
Where the vehicle was sold, where it is registered, and where you live can all matter, and an out-of-state purchase is not an automatic exclusion in either state. Each page's Quick Check asks about the connection and routes uncertain answers to an individual review rather than rejecting them.
